The snowshoe hike to Lake Gaube from Cauterets Pont d'Espagne is accessible to most people in good physical condition and to children aged 12 and up. It's a half-day hike from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM with approximately 3.5 hours of actual walking and 270 meters of elevation gain. This afternoon route is a bit more strenuous than the daytime hike to Lake Gaube.
