Winter hiking in the Lutour Valley
Mandatory

A snowy hike to discover the natural mountain environments of glacial valleys. Between clusters of rhododendrons and waterfalls, the Estom Valley is captivating. At the end of the trail, a waterfall on the Gave du Lutour precedes the Estom refuge and its beautiful lake, its waters shimmering in shades of blue and green, nestled on the sloping hillsides frequented by chamois. A beautiful destination, a much-appreciated break. Along the way, the entire snow-covered Lutour Valley unfolds before the invigorated hiker, a succession of pine groves, rhododendron moors, flat-bottomed clearings, and streams that sometimes meander, sometimes leap into cascades. And a collection of charming spots, each more delightful than the last.
A brisk hike exploring the natural mountain environment of glacial valleys, accessible to most people in good physical condition and to younger people from 16 years old. A 9-hour day outdoors with approximately 7 hours of actual walking and 750m of elevation gain.
The routes are subject to change depending on the weather and safety considerations, which we assess to ensure your comfort and the smooth running of the hike. Snow cover cannot be guaranteed, and we will work together with the current conditions, always with the aim of enjoying the discovery of the natural wonders of the Pyrenees mountains away from the crowds.
